During a 1950 WSM-AM broadcast David Cobb called Nashville, Music City, USA, and it stuck. Now it’s the official nickname of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau. The city has other sobriquets, Athens of the South, the Buckle of the Bible Belt and the Hot Chicken Capitol. Some great musical sites are:

I think I promised by way of the title, what’s new in Music City. If you’re a fan of the Man in Black don’t miss  the Johnny Cash museum that opened in May 2013. The new Husk Nashville features the same modern Southern cuisine as the original restaurant in Charleston. I’ve read great reviews for The Southern Steak & Oyster Bar.
