Having caught the Writer’s Quote Wednesday bug from SeasonedSistah2 and Meredith’s Musings, I’ve succumbed to a feverish desire to unburden my soul of its unmitigated affection for Seamus Heaney’s poetry. Especially such poetry as he penned on the vocation of writing itself, like “Digging,” published in his first collection of poems, Death of a Nauralist in 1966.
