Join Maria, on her trip to North Queensland, Australia. Can you spot any crocodiles?
It is mid-winter in Australia and some say it is the best time of year here. Without the heat and humidity of summer it is near-perfect. I still prefer summer but I cannot deny the loveliness at this time of year. A visit to Alexandra Headlands on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland made me fall in love with the coast all over again. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Our cruise up the spectacular Nepean River in New South Wales, Australia was full of mirror reflections, bird life and sandstone cliffs. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
The Nepean Gorge is at the base of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. I visited there for the first time recently.
We have the most beautifully coloured birdlife in Australia.
I photographed these birds while I was staying in a cabin near the Queen Mary Falls in the rainforest in South East Queensland.
The bird with the bright scarlet breast and green wings and tail is an Australian King Parrot.
It is always such a joy to see these birds in the wild.
Our newly-found feathered friends were extremely tame – they are pretty cheeky birds, anyway! We bought bags of seed and hand fed them. The birds even perched on my arm and hat!
